Thoughts

Are they called pokies because all you do is sit there and poke the button?

Also, that song, "Big Girls Don't Cry" - Freud would have an orgasmic fit! With such classicly freudian lines such as:

"I'm gonna miss you like a child misses its blanket but I gotta get a move on with my life." (potentially the most annoying line in all of every song i know, with way too many syllables.)

and "It's time to be a big girl now, and big girls don't cry."

Finally! The young kids hit back!

Prep students beat older boy as he lay on ground, hurt

  • Mex Cooper
  • December 5, 2008 - 11:52AM

"Four preppies have been suspended after ganging up on a student about twice their age, wrestling their victim to the ground and beating him while he lay there."

Didn't you always wish that you could do that, when you were in prep? Those big kids were so mean. If you didn't have your Buddy around, you were in deep shizen. Good on those preps, I say!

Mongolia vs. The Maldives

So,
We were thinking the other day about the people in Mongolia freezing their butts off and cooking their food using yak poo or whatever (I dunno, TB was sharing some insight based on very loose knowledge he learnt from watching David Attenbourgh.)

And it's like, well, why dont they just stop sitting around trying to pass time in the freezing cold and move somewhere else?!!  I mean, C'MON guys!  Don't DO that to yourselves!

But then, I thought, well the people who live in the Maldives - yo u know, where you hang out in the sun, swim and fish all day - are probably thinking about the people in Melbourne "Whaaaa t are you doing there?!! Don't DO that to yourselves!!"

But here in melbourne, it doesn't even enter our heads to up and move to the Maldives.  So, arguably, the people in Mongolia wouldn't think about up and moving to Melbourne.

My new PhD topic is about: the migrating habits of the native peoples of Mongolia in comparison with the people of the Maldives, and how these trends impact our living conditions and discourse in the inner suburbia of Melbourne.

I really feel that this will contribute to the knowledge bank of our society.  Particularly the bit where I get to travel to interview the Maldivian people.

Postscript: I entirely understand I have used very subjective and emotionally loaded visual representations of entire nations to make a loose, unsupported argument.  Perhaps I would make a better journalist on Today Tonight than a PhD student.

S-dogg's birthday

My friend S-face has her bday today and has decided that she doesn't like my pseudonyms she has on my blog. Apparently. "Dorny" "S-doggs" "S-face" and "Man" are all too macho. Okay, so i never call her "Man" thats just to rile her up.

Better than "up-at-the-crack-a" as well.

So anyway, perhaps from now on I will call her Sponge.

Because she has spongey ear plugs. And she absorbs love wherever she goes. Awwwww. Not in a bad way. In a good, absorbent way. When you squeeze her, she drips love, so you better hold her over the sink.

In other news, T-rav and I have been discussing the awkward nature of the 'first pash.'

That's all for now.

mermaid/merman

In my latest wedding dream which I forgot to record,

TB for our engagement party ordered a cake which was a Mermaid/Merman cake with little icing figurines of him a merman and me as a mermaid.
I was so upset but he'd gone to all this effort and i didn't want to offend his family because they helped pay for it.

Yeah, weird.

In other news, I am not at series 7 of The West Wing (TWW) which is not as good as the other series, but still gripping me in its dramatic ways. Will Toby go to jail? or gaol?
Will Donna return and confess her undying love for Josh?
Will Santos crush Vinnick in election victory?!

The writers have said that the links to the current presidential election and TWW Series 7 are scary - and its true - the characters and situations are frighteningly similar. Which is why, according to TWW, we can expect an Obama victory.
Today when someone asked me who i backed in the election i said "I'm barracking for Obama." i didnt realise my own pun until i remembered "Barack Obama." What an unintentional Dad joke!

Before that though, I went on for a big rave about how i'm actually an AUSTRALIAN and I'll be voting in the next election which is in THREE YEARS. So yeah, the American president might have some sway over our politics, but would all these people give me a break?! I'm AUSTRALIAN. I've been living with America having a doofus president for most of my life - no, ALL of my life - so if they vote in another one, I don't think it'll change me much.

Thirty degrees

Purposely no homework done today. Big Breakfast at the Raincoat with friends, laughing, eating foods and chatting secretly about fun things.
Then milking up the sun (strange turn of phrase) and off for the first Slurpee of the new summer season! YAY!

Wacky dream

So.

Last night I had a dream that TB and I were getting married. And I was wearing a dress that pretty much was Miss B's wedding dress. Blush pink a bit and long train.

Anyway, my bridesmaids were Han, Sair and Miss B and then I hadn't organised bridesmaids dresses for them. And they turned up in these gorgeous long full and slightly revealing dresses that were just HOT AS - I mean, these girls looking stunning. And I got all cut with them because I was like "My dress isn't as hot as this" (I mean, Miss B's dress was hot, don't get me wrong, but you know how dreams are weird like that)

I was really cut with my bridesmaids for being hotter than I was, with gorgeous long hair when I had my annoying short hair.

Anyway, i got over that and was just perfectly happy to be getting married to TB. So the wedding starts and the entrance music begins and all the bridesmaids go down this really really long aisle up to where TB is at the end looking lovely and perfectly happy. The music they enter to is really pretty piano-y gorgeous music. In fact, i think it was the Sigur Ros track from Miss B's wedding.

BUT THEN! As soon as I enter, TB had arranged it that the music fade out and fade back into a Metallica song!!!!

METALLICA!
To walk down the aisle!

I don't know which song it was, but all I knew was it was Metallica and it wasn't pretty and my bridesmaids were hot and it was annoying. I got really upset/slightly amused at my own ability to create such bizarre dreams.

Pet hates

I am currently rapidly adding to my list of pet hates.

You may already know that I hate:
1. The birthday song. Nobody can sing it, so it sounds terrible all the time. And in my hood, its a excuse for stupid people to sing it badly for about 20 minutes of 'for she's a jolly good fellow' and steal all the glory from the birthday person.

Although recently I have included:
1. Used teabags in the sink. Honestly, its not that hard to squeeze the teabag, walk two steps and put it in the bin. Instead, my family insist on leaving teabags sitting on the kitchen sink to sag and get gross for someone else (read: me) to come along and pick them up later. Yuck.

2. Franklin's new ear phone piece for his mobile. It constantly hangs around his neck, which is good for Franklin because he's a heavy mobile user (HMU). I understand why he does it, but for some reason it just gets to me. I think because it sits in his ear even when he's not on the phone and then i dont know whether i can talk to him or not because i dont know if he's on the phone.
PLUS. It flashes blue, and i get easily distracted by flashy things. PLUS, its not THAT HARD to just answer the phone and hold it to your ear! Don't tell Franklin.

3. Wedding cakes. They are dumb. You pay about $400 for a cake that people glimpse at briefly and never again - they are too busy admiring the happy couple or getting drunk and boogie-ing. How do you spell that? Anyway its a stupid tradition, cutting the cake together. What does it even mean?

4. Cake cutting in general is just dumb.

5. This is the ultimate pet hate of the moment: Dogs with stumpy tails. ERRRRRGGH! It actually makes me angry inside. They look so UGLY. So stumpy!!

That's my vent for the day.

I tried to get my header to fit, but as you can see it was a bit fat FAIL.

The snow

The great T.B turns the great 2, 3 on Sunday. This will be fun for us all. And the next weekend I am wagging Hannah's hens night (so naughty of me) for a trip to the SNOW!!! which I am ULTRA excited about. I mean, ULTRA. SNOWBOARDING, DuuuuuuuDes!

Yeah, this will SOOOOOO not be me. THIS will be me:

Still, I'm looking forward to it and all the bruises it will bring.

Those deadly scissors

I hate my haircut.
Well, maybe not HATE. But I don't like it. I've decided. It's taken me a while to decide what I think of it, but yesterday I came to the conclusion that - well - I just DON'T like it at all.

I've spent the majority of my time since getting it cut wishing it was back and asking God to grow it back quicker. I've also spent a lot of time convincing myself I don't look butch or like a lesbian. I've spent a lot of time convincing myself that other people don't secretly think this when they say "It ROCKS!", etc.
I know all of these are irrational thoughts, but I dont think that a haircut should ever make someone feel like they have to convince themselves, no matter what the situation.

Anyway. Now I am in the process of growing it out and trying to feel good about myself. I wear it with confidence but secretly I am insecure. Typical girl, maybe.

It also takes ages to get right in the morning, because it sticks out funny or looks a bit too BLAH. So instead of being an easy, carefree, funky hairdo it's become a burden.

I know that hair isn't everything, but mostly I just want to look and feel pretty. Everyone wants that. And people can say "ohhh you do! you do!" but unless you actually feel it yourself it doesn't really count for that much.

In the meantime I will just wait and wait and wait for it to grow again and hope that my boyfriend doesn't mind it this short either.

Thursday, July 17

Red, chocolate, short, sweet

My hair is cut off. This is a sad day, really and truly. I dont mind it short but I miss being girly and having it long. Not much I can do about it now except grin, bear it, and wear it with confidence like i meant it to happen this way all along...

I miss TB. Being a "jobbie" as Dan called it last night (at the Ethiopian restaurant! Mmmm) sucks. Haha. I just miss lunches and cuddles.

Ethiopian was yummy, as always. It is SO filling! Man. That pancake bread stuff they serve the dishes on must expand in your tummy or something because I was so full I could explode.
Just watched the first half of the BBC's version of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. I loved it! Cant wait to finish it off. It's adorable and I LOVED it. I think I will need to make a facebook group or find out if there is already one, to express my love. Haha.

Apollo Bay

Just got home from four days at apollo bay last night. I am now officially relaxed, however still feeling impending tenseness from the approaching doom of uni looming ever closer.

The great TB has begun a new job, which is keeping him occupied, busy, and tired. Every person starting a new job, life, or schedule always feels a bit shaken about, and TB and I have settled into an old-persons routine of dinner, cups of tea, and reading books.

Apollo Bay was, as always, wonderful. Han and I went MUDSLIDING! up the hill - very impromptu but sooooo worth it in every way. I havent laughed that hard in ages - that uncontrollable laughter that makes you need to pee. Our white tshirts came back brown. Looks like we need to get the Napisan out I think.
Han's wedding is also a looming 6 weeks away. After spending the weekend with her and M I am getting more excited for it and more excited for their lives together. They work as a fantastic team - patient, kind, adventurous. M is a great guy and good value.

Miss B is overseas on honeymoon with her new husband - the wedding was absolutely lovely and delightful. Only just got an email from her then, and missing her heaps. How fast life is flying by, it seems!

Today I might go and see Franklin. He's on holidays after finally quitting his horrid job, and I'm sure wouldnt say no to the company.

Back again

After a long absence of posts, here I am blogging again.

Last night the great TB and I celebrated the 1 year. The 1 year isn't until Tuesday officially but we wanted a night out that we could stay up as late as we wanted rather than think about having to get up early in the morning. We went out for dinner to a pretty swish-o place on Toorak Rd which was nice, the food was great and mine had FOUR meats in it. I was pretty meat-ed out by the end of the meal, thats for sure. I felt very decadent.

We then saw Caspian in Gold Class at the Jam Factory. I'd never been to Gold class before so that was heaps of fun, i felt like royalty or some very rich famous person, with people serving me churros, chocolate and wine as I maxed out in ultimate comfort and style. Woot.

Then we went bowling at Strike Bar which was fun too. Considering I was a little bit wined by that point and I'm a bit of an unco, I did pretty well! Tobes did very well, but I claim i was distracted by the amount of booty in the music video clips they plaster all over the place. That, and people were singing karaoke. That never helps one bowl.

Now I have a vase of pretty pink tulips sitting next to me as I attempt to finish my last two assignments. I have already had two cups of tea to aid this process and they aren't helping. The tulips, however, are.

Study Week

I love study week. I don't like the study bits of it, but I love waking up at whatever time I like, making endless cups of tea, meeting Tobes for lunch, sitting around in trackies and working at my own pace.

Last night Sunday Night Movie Club watched Transformers. previously we have watched
Into The Wild (BLAHHHHHHHHK)
Hot Rod (fantastically funny - i was in a bad mood and it totally made me laugh)
Death at a Funeral (awesome British comedy. Can't go wrong.)

And now, Transformers. I got a bit bored about 3/4 of the way through. Thought the first half was fantastic but it got just a bit toooooo comicbook cheesy towards the end. I'd give it a handful of stars, still.

I have to go to work today and pay them back just over $600 coz they overpaid me. That feels so sucky. Hopefully they'll make it up with an nice end of financial year bonus or something. Unlikely.

That's all.

My new favourite band

Everyone MUST love my three youth girls who now are

parapluie.

A cute band with a cute name that means 'umbrellas' in French.

Check them at Myspace Music.
Listen to the track Young Eyes. They are really terrible recordings but you can hear the potential. And I'll get them to play for you and you will fall in love.

Like me.

Things I like

Because I am overwhelmed with cold weather and study, I need to take a minute to remind myself of things I like and why life is wonderful.

1. Lemon Slice.
2. Keeping warm next to fires while listening to sleepytime music like Sigur Ros.
3. Toby.
4. Waking Toby up in the morning like I did this morning and him being too sleepy and not having enough energy to even hug me - haha. He takes a while for his brain to switch on.
5. Colourful umbrellas.
6. The West Wing - especially Sair's new addiction to this wonderful series which is keeping me very entertained. She's addicted and I love that she is.
7. Hot water bottles in wintertime.
8. God. The awesome Creator of the Universe who allows me to know Him and try and figure out how to live life with that knowledge. It's tricky but He's always good :)
9. Tacos. I dont know why they suddenly made it to this list but its not a particularly exhaustive list and I have a bit of a craving.

This seems to be a fairly wintertime based list. But that's ok. We've booked Apollo Bay for a few days in my winter break and I am looking forward to it already and counting the weeks. I cant wait for a holiday again!

In the meantime, lovely Barb is turning 60 this weekend, its Mothers Day and I need to find a gift and my grandparents will be taking off for ANOTHER one of their round the world trips, so i need to go and have brunch with them on Saturday. Plus finish my essay. Yuck,

Remember, Baz, lemon slice. It'll getcha through.

Sunday, April 27

Ah yes, my blog.

On the weekend I had fun - weeeee!

Friday was mostly a day of study, except i spent the afternoon having 'coffee' with my bombdiggities. Then Saturday I hung with Han and Saturday afternoon with the great TB and Saturday night with my girls group girls and SUNDAY with my family and then with the great TB and HIS family and especially his Nana.

She is funny. Delia and I got to change her flower arrangements and we did a splendid job. We should be florists.

This mornign I wagged my first class which is funny because i realised that I am PAYING to go to uni, so in a way I am PAYING to wag. I hung out with TB and told him that i was paying to spend time with him and therefore he should feel priveleged. Barb said she should write a letter to the uni to thank them for allowing them my precious time :)

It's so nice taking the morning slowly. I also tried Delia's kumquat marmalade - mmmmmmm it was so nice on toast!!

Monday, April 21

ANZAC biscuits

Well I might have scared away all my blog readers with my last few postings. But that's okay. This blog isn't as much for you as it is for me anyway.

I've been having all these crazy dream recently - all the stress and information overload in my brain is manifesting itself in the night time. At least it means in the day I am a fairly sane person but at night it's a crazy world!

I have risotto for lunch today and that makes me happy :) And ANZAC day is coming up so maybe Cordelia and I can get all cutesy with our new *matching!* aprons and make some biscuits....Well, maybe Delia can because she's become all domesticated since she popped her disc out in her back. I have to finish two assignments this weekend, as well as go to Stew and Em's engagement and to the ZOO with Judz.

I'm going to miss Judz. She's my little ray of Espagnol sunshine.

Wednesday, April 16

Boobs

This might be a bit of an overshare, but right now I'm chilling out in the bungalow in a pair of jeans. Yep, that's it. No top, no bra.

Let 'em free ladies, let 'em free.

I am getting a bit chilly though.

Monday, April 14

Moustache makeout?

I have a presentation due tomorrow plus another assignment to submit so this has got to be a quick post. The great TB shaved his beard off into quite a gay-prison-inmate moustache today.
He's gone camping with Albo Bilbo Baggins. I am doing assignments.
COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN.

Anyway my presentation I am trying terribly hard to NOT make boring but it is. It just is. There is nothing I can do about it because the content is boring, and that's not my fault but the Department of Education, Employment and Training. So you can take it up with them.

Sunday, April 13

Grrr

It's Sunday afternoon. I spent most/all of Saturday doing an assignment and all of this afternoon doing an assignment.

I'm also getting really sick of my lovely BF and I having to squeeze in crappy timeslots with one another and the times I'M free he's not and vice versa. Or stuff like he's all free to go CAMPING with his mates both during the week AND this coming weekend whilst I have to stay back and study. And then when i DO see him either I'm exhausted from uni or he is exhausted from truck driving and generally having fun with people.

Right now Stay Off the Crack are having band rehearsal. They are pretty hot I must say. Both in sound and in looks.

Anyway, I'm just in a bad mood because of study. I have to expect it really, i mean i am studying a Masters course so its not like it should be a walk in the park. I'm just getting sick of leaving my life behind a little bit.

Oh well, shrug it off. I saw Han at the Trailer Trash party last night which was great, we talked for a good couple of hours i think! I miss her heaps.

I'm off to Delia and Franklin's house for a good Tank stirfry. So that'll cheer me up I think :)

Wednesday, April 9

Wednesday afternoons

Midweek has arrived.

You gotta love midweek. It's a really nice time to examine yourself and think - how am I feeling?
If I feel crappy, well dont worry, the first part of the week is over and the weekend is approaching.

If i feel great, huzzah! Two more days of fun and then more fun on the weekend!

This weekend will consist of a lot of homework. I've got 3 assignments due - one monday and two tuesday, plus i have to prepare for a group presentation the following week.
BLAHHH.

Lucky the mid-weekend point will be Sair's Trailer Trash party, where I shall be donned in feral blonde wig and white denim high waisted shorts. Awesome.

Friday, April 4

The Sniffles

I have the sniffles - again.

Last time I had the sniffles was only a couple of weeks ago. It's really annoying! I mean, most people can't afford to get sick, but this is just annoying.

The Lucksmiths are on Triple J and I love the Lucksmiths. They're one of those bands hardly anyone knows but they are great :) One of their best songs is called Tshirt Weather and its all about waking up happy coz its a warm, sunny day and you get to wear a tshirt and hang out with your buddies. How good is that feeling :)

It's 1:14 and I've done a lot of cleaning this morning and it's nearly time to hit up the homework. Blah, yuck feeling. I'm looking forward to the year being over.

Enough complaining. More singing.

Wednesday, April 2

Irish Breakfast in the Afternoon

I have free time right now. As in, I'm not at uni, I'm not at work, I'm not at youth. I'm just at home. It's absolutely freaking me out, hence why I am on the computer.

How did I get to this point? I had a shorter class today. I am just killing time, maybe I'll clean up. I just dont know what to doooo with myself anymore now I have a bit of spare time. My brain feels EVEN. I mean, this is a really strange sensation.

I like it.

A Malteser Pregnancy

Today I have a day off from placement and from uni - wow, it's bliss. This is my first proper day off in a while - I spent most of my "study break" away with the youth group on camp. So to have an actual day off is really tripping me out. Of course, I intend to study most of the day and then go to work later on this evening. However, just the joy of a sleep in was soooooo delicious.

Last night most of my crew abandoned me. Well, I didnt get home till about 7.20pm - yuck! Soon daylight savings will end and it will be pitch black at 5.30 and then I'll be all SAD every late night home. Anyway Toby went to mangroup and the girls went to see Step Up 2. So after dinner I went round to see Cordelia and Franklin for a cup of tea. A Malteser fell down my top and landed in my belly button, making it look like I had a pregnant "outie." This was all funny until I took the Malteser out and a little bit had melted in there. Ewwww. Franklin said I could use his dishcloth to get it out, but I didnt want his dirty dishes juice in my belly either. Ewwww.

Pseudonyms

I find pseudonyms on the Internet funny. Aqua, for example, calls me Basil in her blog and my boy SnakeBalls. What is funny is that her dog's name is Basil, so for all we could read, her dog and some testicles of an amphibian are dancing at her house and playing Pictionary. Hahaha.

I guess it's mostly important to conceal identity - especially now I am going into teaching. I dont really want my kiddies to search me up on Google and find that I was playing a strange Christian variety of Strip Pictionary on Easter Sunday night whilst drinking Merlot. Probably not going to go down well in the staffroom or aid my professional identity.

I am writing my first essay of the year, and its been quite a few months since I last wrote an essay. I must say, I'm quite rusty. Only 1000 words should take me no time at all.

Anyway, Tobes went surfing last night with Sair and some crew. I don't know how to surf. I don't have very good balance standing with two feet on the ground, so try to imagine me on the water! I do enjoy the beach and boogie boarding, so maybe I can convince Aqua to relearn how to surf with me sometime, but to do it in a sneaky way so we can get kinda good. Problem is, I dont have the time.

I went out for Pizza instead with Big K which was fun. We stopped off at the Horse House - one of the sharehouses of our uni mates - and ate leftover Easter choccy and watched an awesome storm roll through. I haven't seen rain like that since San Fransisco. Bok lent me her gumboots to walk home in and I chatted all the way back under two umbrellas with Big K. He was grumpy because he doesnt like be outside in the rain but I was having a great time, especially laughing at his expense.

Watching the lightning made me miss the boy and my own crew. Cool things aren't as cool without your homies.

Thursday, March 20

Easter

Today is Good Friday and I am taking Tobes to Warrnambool. My extended family (read - LARGE) go down every year at easter. The last person I pulled along to that was my ex-ex (as in, very long ago) boyfriend Phil. That was not the funnest time I've ever had, but then again, Phil and I really weren't ever meant to be.

I'm looking forward to spending some time away from the house. We are taking the youth on camp on Wednesday but I really feel I need some time aside from that just going on some alone walks on the beach and around the park. Because I know the place pretty much back to front, it will be fun showing Tobes around. It's pretty boring for me now, but having someone new there means it will be funner.

We're only going for about a night or so but I overpacked (of course). This was because I couldnt be bothered planning the packing, I just got a bag, zipped it open and threw clothes in its general direction till it was full. Good way of doing it, I reckon.

Now I'm going to eat some lunch and play Super Mario Kart with Cam until Tobes drives round to pick us up. We need to swing past Werribee as well to get something so we probably wont make it to Warrnambool till after dinner. But oh well, the road trip is half the fun, except for the bit when your butt goes numb.

Ps. All thanks to Cordelia for my spunky new layout! Mwah!

Sunday, March 16

Die Hard 4.0

The weekend was fun as fun can be.

Well, mostly. There were times when I got a bit over hanging out with everyone and sort of just wanted to be in the country somewhere with a very good book. I woke up this morning absolutely freaked out about all the work I have for uni and organising the youth group camp. I prayed about it a bit and went and did some exercise (shock, gasp, horror!) When I got back I felt much better. Thanks God.

Plus, I really would like to spend some quality time (yuck, that's love languages talk for you good Christiany friends of mine) with Tobes. Recently I've mostly seen him when he's either been extremely tired or we've been with a stack of other people.

But tonight he mentioned something about going out to dinner with his Uncle Ron and wife Annie. That'd be nice. They are here as a SUPRISE! for J&B. Keeping their 25 Year Church Anniversary Suprise Party secret was sooooo much fun. Cordelia and I ran around most of Sunday giggling with sneakiness. Franklin and Tankerus were like "You guys get waaay too much fun out of organising suprises." Heehee

We also made the most A-MAZING lemon slice. It has three distinct layers of goodness, crispy top, gooey centre, crunchy base. And yes, you only have to make TWO layers and the magicalness transforms them into two.

Then we watched Die Hard 4, which can i say was MY choice of movie and I personally feel, pretty successful. I was a bit grumpy by that point though, but once it got going I sorted out a bit.

And now I read on delia's blog that she's all sickly? That's no good, especially not after our weekend of funness.

OH! I didnt even write about dinner with the Espagnol's and the roly-poly dog. Oh, well keep you hanging.

Friday, March 7

Zazzing

So, when Cordelia reads this I want her to say "mmmm, yes okay."

Cordelia,
My blog is boring-er than yours. Yours has funky links and scrolling photos and a cool layout and mine is all "ooooh I'm a preset. Preset me to your ASS."
You know.
So, you should help make my blog look cute.
Like me.
You know?
Love
BaSiL.

In other news, I went to a brunch (at 9am?! Yeah, tell me how that works, that my friends is BREAKFAST) for Han's bridesmaids and 'posse.' She has 6 bridesmaids and about 6 women who are her 'posse' of friends so its going to be pretty mega. We also went shopping for bridesmaids dresses (just 4 of us girls though) which was fun. Her wedding colours are gorgeous and wonderful so we'll all look divine. We didnt find any dresses but got heaps of cool ideas and found out what suits us and what doesn't.

I cant believe she's getting married. I said "oh, she's the first one to leave the nest. The friendship nest." Haha.

I still have a cold and my brain is a little dead. My manfri (man-friend, haha) is apparently at band practice, at least thats what Sarah told me. Go figure, hey!

My room looks like small leprechauns had a bachelors party and left behind a mess for their mum's to clean up.

That's all.

Sunday, February 24

Here's looking at you, kid

Whoever said the moonlight cinema is always cold is WRONG. Mostly because i snuggled under about 4 huge blankets with Judz and Sair. We saw Casablanca which has got to be on the list of movies you can watch over and over again and never get sick of, because although it was the first time i'd ever seen it, i suddenly have an urge to watch it over and over again.

Class is starting soon and i might go outside and snag the last bit of sunshine before it disappears. I dont get out of class until 6.15 so its a good idea to get as much vitamin D in me as i can. Then i can go and see Tobes after uni and maybe watch the end of This is Spinal Tap, which is really what i feel like doing. And hopefully by then i would have filled my brain with as much information on "Noun groups" as a whole year of year nine's could handle so i'll be adeptly (right word??) prepared for all their adjectivals and pronouns and be right on the money when their clauses make no sense.

As much as I deny it, I was born for this job.

And to love the Lord.

Tuesday, February 5

FYI

I am beginning a blog because I am bored at home. TB is currently at work, as is the majority of all fun people and I am stuck cleaning up my room. I feel very little saying that.

The reason my blog is titled "the great mousse detective" is because there was a movie once called Basil, the great mouse detective. Big K told me yesterday that there was a woman who came into where he works and wanted to order chocolate mousse but instead said "can i please have a burger, hot, and a chocolate mouse."

That made me laugh. Big K is not doing so well at the moment, stuff is pretty crappy at home for him and he's looking for a place to move out to. I told him to move to Wtown because its fun here, but its pretty far from most of his usual life. Just like moving to Brunswick would be ridiculous for me because i'd be too far from the awesomeness of people i love.

The other reason for this blog is because I have recently been reading Cordelia's and it inspired me. I find some blogs can be very boring and hers has proved otherwise, so i thought i'd take up the challenge too.

That's all. (said like whatshername in the Devil Wears Prada
)

Meryl Streep. That's it.
