I'm at work listening to storytime and being a desk monkey. This woman came up with a pile of books to borrow and suddenly she yells "LUIGI, NO!" and her small black poodle is running around the library like a psycho nut. She finally calms him down and ties him up outside. She comes back in to borrow. Looking out the window at the park she then says "Oh great...and there is my son, wandering off..." He was taking a stroll around the park wearing his bright orange jacket and carrying his little teddy. Luckily there are plenty of people in the park and we can see him very clearly from where we stand. Suddenly though, he is walking a little faster, and then running away. "It's okay," she says, "he won't go out of the park..."
Except he does. As fast as his little legs will carry him, he sprints off down the streeet, a blur of orange and brown, and races around the corner. I say to her sort of awkwardly..."do you want me to borrow these out for you while you go get him?" and she says "yes please!" and then races off after him.
When she finally returns with the happy go lucky kid she says to me, "He was off to get a milkshake. We get a milkshake after the library every week and he was off to get one."
Made sense to me.
